What They Actually Do
Peptides are short chains of amino acids — the same building blocks that make up the structural proteins in your skin, collagen and elastin. Collagen is the single most abundant protein in skin: about 70% of the skin's dry weight is collagen, and it's what gives skin its strength and bounce. As we age, we make less of it and break down more of it. Certain peptides act as signals that tell skin to build and protect these proteins — and because they don't exfoliate or strip the barrier, the right ones are gentle enough for sensitive skin.
01Why your skin listens to peptides
From your mid-twenties, collagen production slows and the fibroblasts that build it become less active. At the same time, enzymes that dismantle your skin's support structure — like elastase — stay busy. Peptides work on both sides of that equation. Signal peptides prompt fibroblasts to synthesize new collagen and elastin. Enzyme-inhibiting peptides slow the breakdown of the structure you already have.
Think of them as the site foremen of skin repair: they don't lay the bricks, they direct the crew.

Do peptides work on sensitive skin?
They don't exfoliate or disturb the barrier, so they're generally well-tolerated. Our formula is HRIPT-tested here for sensitive skin.
Peptides vs. retinol — what's the difference?
